Obituary of Noble W. Doane
Mitchell--Noble W. Doane, 77, of Port Williams Road, passed away at 3:35 am on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the Health Campus of Stonebridge in Bedford, IN.
Born on August 9, 1930 in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Myron and Grace (Bex) Doane. He was a truck driver and he owned and operated Noble Doane Trucking and was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. Mr. Doane was also a member of Port Williams Church of Christ, the American Legion Hanson McPhee Post in Shoals, VFW in Shoals, the Eagles Lodge in Shoals, and the Masonic Lodge #228 in Mitchell. He married Mary Jane-Sterling on August 25, 1951 and she survives.
Surviving with his wife, Mary Jane, are two sons, Scott Doane of Williams, and Darrell Doane and his wife, Nora of Mitchell, two grandchildren, Allen Doane and Kortni Doane, two sisters, Juanita Taylor and her husband, Gordon of Bedford, Jeanette Bates and her husband, Russell of Bedford, one brother, Jonnie Doane and his wife, Peggy of Bedford, and three nieces and two nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am Thursday, December 27th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day and Carter Mortuary with Norman Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Port Williams Cemetery where the American Legion Hanson McPhee Post will conduct military rites. Friends may call from 3:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 26th at the Day and Carter Mortuary where Masonic Rites will be conducted at 7:00 P.M.
