Obituary of Jack Hayes
Bedford Jack (Jackie) Hayes, 79, formerly of Springville, died at 7:23 am on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford.
Born September 28, 1928 in Greene Co., he was the son of James Curtis and Sarah (Hudson) Hayes. He was retired from Indiana Limestone Co. and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church and Local #741 Laborers International Union of North America over thirty-three years.
Survivors include three sisters, Rosella Strauser and Delight Arthur both of Springville and Delores Alexander of Farmersburg, IN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Marvin R. and Cecil J. Hayes; three sisters, Louise Collins, Mary Allen and Cleta Jackson. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 29th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Larry Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Owensburg Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 28th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
