Obituary of Helen M. Davis

Bedford Helen M. (Chambers) Davis, 87, of Bedford, died at 9:03 pm on Monday, February 15, 2010 at Garden Villa in Bedford. Born July 24, 1922, she was the daughter of Jason and Pink (Hawkins) Chambers. She married Ervan Todd and he died on April 5, 1968. She later married Franklin Smith, and later married William O. Davis and he survives. She was a retired clerical worker at the Bedford Water Works and group leader at RCA. She was a member of the Senior Citizens in Bedford and attended the First Church of God. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting playing cards and bingo. Survivors include her husband, William; two daughters, Linda Burgi and husband, Reny, Sharon Logsdon and husband, Sam all of Bedford; five grandchildren, Todd Oliver and Kelly of Florida, Gwen Zanetti of Florida, Jessica Soules and Brian of Kentucky, Jeremy Logsdon of Terre Haute, Heather Garvey and Kevin of Greenwood; two great grandchildren, Zane Oliver and Kendall Soules; two step grandchildren, Kelly Burgi of Florida and Patrick Burgi of Mitchell; four step great grandchildren, Haley and A.J. Burgi, Chase Codreanu, Fiona Varno; four sisters, Louise Bailey and Jesse of Heltonville, Betty Malott of Bedford, Marjorie Bartlett of Bedford, Sarah Bundy and Web of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and one daughter, Susan (Todd) Zanetti in 2004; four brothers, Ray, Leonard, Herman and Billy Chambers. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 19th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Dirus Dustin officiating. Burial will follow in Gilgal Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 18th and from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
