Obituary of Mary Jo Davis

Bedford Mary Jo Davis, 90, of Bedford, died at 6:10 pm on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Garden Villa in Bedford. Born July 1, 1920 in Woodville, OH, she was the daughter of George and Lula (Sons) Tapp. She married Albert Wayne Davis on September 12, 1942 and he preceded her in death on October 1, 1982. She was a graduate of Bedford High School. She had worked at RCA in Bloomington and in Fleet Logistics at NWSC Crane before her retirement in 1975. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and had attended the New Union Church. She was a member of the Gathering Friends Extension Homemakers Club, and a former member of the Rebeccah Lodge. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother; her two grandsons were her pride and joy. Survivors include a daughter, Becky Fields of Bedford; two grandsons, Brien Fields and his wife Elizabeth of Woburn, Mass. and Jeffrey Fields of Bedford; a cousin that she considered her brother: Bob Blythe and his wife Maxine; and several nieces and nephews by marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, Johnny in infancy; a son-in-law, Bob Fields. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 24th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Phil Thorne officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 23rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
