Obituary of Jewell Dean Jennings

Jewell Dean Jennings, 90, of 2969 Broadview Drive, Bedford, died at 7:20 am on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Garden Villa in Bedford. Born February 10, 1920 in Echols, Kentucky, Jewell was the daughter of Oscar and Beatrice (Fulkerson) Bowen. She married Robert Easton Jennings on December 8, 1945 and he preceded her in death on May 3, 1998. Jewell spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was very devoted to her family whom she loved spending time with and also enjoyed sewing and working outside in the yard. She also worked at the downtown J.C. Penney and W.T. Grants. She was a member of Pond Run Baptist Church in Echols, KY. Survivors include children, Patricia E. Jennings of Bloomington, Robert W. Jennings of Bedford, Steve D. Jennings and wife, Sarah of Bedford; two grandchildren, Jerod E. Jennings, and Samantha D. Jennings; a sister-in-law, Margaret Carr of Cecilia, KY, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Delmar Bowen, two sisters, Hazel Everley and Audrey Rowe, and two nieces. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 28th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information The family welcomes memorial contributions for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bedford.
