Obituary of Dorothy E. Hayden Daugherty
Bloomington- Dorothy E. Hayden Daugherty, 94, a life-long resident of Bedford, died at 11:40 am on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at the Beverly Health Care Center in Bloomington, IN.
Born on February 22, 1911 in Danville, IN, she was the daughter of Horace H. Hayden and Pearl (Darnell) Hayden. She was a homemaker and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bloomington, a lifelong member and past president of W.C.T.U., Youth Temperance Council Leader and a past member of the First Baptist Church in Bedford. She married James Harvey Daugherty and he preceded her in death on October 27, 1972.
Surviving are two daughters: Jan Hayden of Bloomington, IN and Beverly Schneider and her husband, Alan, of Jasper, GA; two sons: Michael D. Daugherty and his wife, Geri, of Avoca, IN and Stephen E. Daugherty and his wife, Connie, of Bloomington, IN; four grandchildren: Melissa and Danielle Daugherty of Bedford, IN; Jessica Daugherty of Bloomington, IN and Brad Schneider of Jasper, GA; one sister: Norene Elliott of Martinsville, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers: Edward and Herman Hayden; one sister: Lenos Irrgang; one grandson: James M. Daugherty and one step son: James (Jay) Daugherty Jr. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 29th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial following in the Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call at Day & Carter Mortuary on Friday, October 28th from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Donations Information
