Obituary of Harry Gene Dalton
Bedford, Harry Gene Dalton, of 1309 Liberty Church Road in Mitchell, formerly of 2002 J Street in Bedford, died at 11:53 p.m. on Saturday, March 22nd, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on January 25, 1936 in Lawrence County, He was the son of Woody and Lucretia (Goens) Dalton. He married Alice D. Lois Bell on June 6, 1965; she died on January 13, 2001.
He retired from Central Foundry. He was a member of First Church of God in Mitchell, Eagles Lodge #654, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the American Legion Gillen Post #33.
Surviving are three sons: Chigger Dalton of Mitchell; Robert Bobby and Steve Dalton both of Bedford; three daughters: Beth Guthrie of Mitchell; Teresa Dalton of Trinity Springs and Christie Crider of Sneedville, TN; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild; two brother: Kenny Dalton of Bedford and Jack Dalton of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters: Sue Hack of Mitchell and Donna Gentry of Washington, IN. Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26th, from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Officiating will be Pastor Chad McIntosh and Kenny Dalton. Burial will follow in Tunnelton Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the grave by the American Legion Gillen Post #33.
