Obituary of Charles Cummings

Moorhead , MN Charles Cummings, 92, a resident of Moorhead Health Care Center in Moorhead, MN, formerly of Bedford, died at 5:45 am on Sunday, November 30, 2003 at Merit Care Hospital in Fargo, ND. Born February 22, 1911 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of George W. and Sarah (Parr) Cummings. He first married Kate Hildum and she preceded him in death. He married Fern Chastain in 1947 and she died October 9, 1982. He retired as a window assembler and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bedford. Survivors include two sons, Richard Cummings of Dillworth, MN and Michael Cummings of Houston, TX; one daughter, Ada Lee McCreary of Atmore, Alabama; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray, Roy, Joe and Jack; two sisters, Amy Lee Plummer and Opal Tisdall; one half-sister, Cora Embree. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 5th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Roy Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 4th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Morutary.
