Obituary of John Joseph Crouch

John J. Jack Crouch Born on December 21, 1925 in Nashville, TN, he was the son of Lawrence Edgar and Frances (Dubuisson) Crouch. Jack attended Indiana University playing varsity football as an I Man in 1943. Jack then toured with the US Navy as Quartermaster 2nd class in the South Pacific from 1944-1946. Upon return, he finished his education at Evansville College and was a member of the 49ers Purple Aces football team. Jack began his career as an auditor for Standard Oil Co. and Indiana State Board of accounts. He became a CPA in 1972 and practiced in Mitchell and Bedford for 25 years. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and organizing washer tournaments. Jack married Helen L. Trinkle in 1976 and she survives. Surviving with his beloved wife, Helen of Bedford, is one sister, Patricia Marx and her husband, Frank of Hamilton, OH; his children: Cathy Crouch of Evansville; Thomas Crouch of Carmel; Barbara Will and her husband, Steve; Timothy Crouch and his wife, Barbara; and Daniel Crouch all of Evansville; Marjorie McBride and her husband, Larry of Wadesville; and Shawn Crouch and his wife, Lisa of Merritt Island, FL; step-children: Carla Huffman of Bedford; Pamela Long of Overland Park, KS; and Brenda Cummins and her husband Jeff of Bloomington; six grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, and many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jon David Crouch; his sister, Barbara, in infancy; and two brothers, Edgar and Donald Crouch. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Monday, April 28th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day and Carter Mortuary with Rev. Ronald Mercer officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Cecil Martin Post # 250. Cremation will follow. Friends may call at Day and Carter Mortuary on Sunday, April 27th from 4:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. and on Monday, April 28th from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour.
