Obituary of Nellie Elizabeth Cornett

Williams Nellie Elizabeth Cornett, 85, of Williams, died at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at her residence. Born May 1, 1927 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Henry and Mary (Beasley) Williams. She married Fred Cornett and he preceded her in death on February 18, 2010. She retired as the postmaster at the Williams Post Office and was a member of the Williams First Baptist Church. Survivors include children, Randy Cornett and wife, Rachel of Williams, Gaye Chapman of Bedford, Jan Skeen and husband, Tom of Williams, Marc Cornett of Bloomington; eight grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Linda Sue Whiteman of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three children (in infancy). Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 1st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Williams Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 31st and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, September 1st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
