Obituary of Karl S. Jeffries

Scotland Karl S. Jeffries, 84, of Scotland, IN, died at 9:45 am on Monday, June 18, 2007, at the Lyons Health and Living Center in Lyons, IN. Born June 29, 1922 in Oolitic, he was the son of William E. and Nora (Puckett) Jeffries. He married Mary M. Stevens on July 3, 1964 and she survives. He retired from NWSC CRANE as an ordinance man and held various other jobs. He was a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Army and was a member of the V.F.W. at Crane, IN. Survivors include his wife, Mary of Scotland; one son, William Jeffries and his wife, Dusti of Scotland; a foster daughter, Virginia Rodriguez of Ft. Meyers, FL; one brother, Paul Jeffries and his wife, Carol of Carlisle, IN; a half-brother, James Jeffries of Paris Crossing, IN; one sister, Barbara Jeffries of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Helen Hackney and Edna Sears; three brothers, Russell Dale Jimmy, Orville and Glen L. Jeffries; a half-brother, Herman Jeffries and a half-sister, Dovye Bundy. Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 21st at the New Union Cemetery with Pastor Kenny Pickett officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may call from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm on Thursday, June 21st at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of the V.F.W. Post at Crane, IN.
