Obituary of Glen L. Jeffries

Bedford, Glenn L. Jeffries, 73, of 811 John Kern Lane in Bedford, died after a brief illness at 7:25 a.m. on Monday, April 21, 2003, at Westview Manor in Bedford. Born on April 30, 1929 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Ed and Nora (Puckett) Jeffries. He married Janet Fitzgerald on May 28, 1960 and she survives. He retired after 41 years from Indiana Limestone Company and a member of the 741 Hod Carries Union. He attended the New Union Christian Church. Surviving are his wife of Bedford; one son: Terry Henderson of Bedford; one daughter: Cherri Hayes of Solsberry; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; four brothers: Karl Jeffries of Scottland, IN; Paul Jeffries of Carlisle, IN; James Jeffries of Paris Crossing, IN and Herman Jeffries of Bowling Green KY; one sister: Barbara Jeffries of Bedford and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Kevin Jeffries; two sisters: Helen Hackney and Edna Sears; two brothers: Russell Dale Jimmy and Orville Jeffries. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24th, from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Frank Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the New Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23rd, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
