Obituary of Jewell Hagan Chastain

Bedford Jewell Hagan Chastain, 81, of 202 Riley Blvd., Bedford, died Wednesday, August 11, 2010. Born April 30, 1929 in Monroe Co., IN, she was the daughter of Cecil and Darvell (Sipes) Hagan. She married Fred T. Chastain on November 2, 1989 and he died on November 2, 2002. She retired in 1977 after twenty-five years in the repair department at Sarkes-Tarzian in Bloomington. She was a member of the Englewood Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Treva Barrow of Bloomington and Pam George of Bedford; a son, Steve Deckard of Clarkston, MI; a sister, Joan Mobley of Bloomington; a brother, Ronald Hagan of Spencer; five grandchildren, Shawn Canada, Stephanie Barrow, Christopher Deckard, Andrea Ford and Garrett Deckard; seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 14th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 13th and from 2:00 pm until the hour of service on Saturday, August 14th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
