Obituary of Edna Crozier Charles

Oolitic Edna Crozier Charles, 96, of 153 Lafayette Ave., Oolitic, died at 2:59 am on Tuesday, may 4, 2010 at her residence. Born May 11, 1913 in Bartlettsville, she was the daughter of Howard and Emma (Wilkerson) Covey. She married Thomas Crozier and he preceded her in death on January 5, 1947. She later married Emery E. Charles on July 19, 1986 and he also preceded her in death on January 16, 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of the East Oolitic Community Church. She attended the Church of the Nazarene in Shoals, IN. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Nikirk and husband, Danny, Brenda Terrell and husband, Roger all of Bedford; fifteen grandchildren, Ricky Hougland, Becky Farrell, Brenda Simmons, Bonnie Crozier, Sarah Patton, Daniel Crozier, Mellissa Hillenburg, Thomas Crozier, Genia Fitzgerald, Debi Jo Johnson, Shelley Dodd, Jeri Ann Gore, Tana Jo Nikirk, Chad Nikirk and Kurt Stevens; fifteen great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; three nieces, Dorothy Elder of Bargersville and Erma Haws and Kathryn Hennschen both of Bedford; daughters-in-law, Mary and Jacklyn Crozier; four step-children. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, five sons, Thomas, Howard, Norman, Kenny and Jerry; three sisters,one brother, two grandbabies, Abigal Stevens and Jerry Wayne Crozier. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, May 7th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Millard Jones and Claude Chastain officiating. Burial will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 6th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Friday, May 7th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
