Obituary of James F. Cecil
James F. Cecil, 74, of 215 Schleibaum Ct., passed away at 11:30 P.M. Friday, January 29th at the Waters Nursing Home in Seymour.
Born on July 25, 1935 in Jefferson County, Kentucky he was the son of William Leo Cecil and Margaret (Masterson) Cecil. He was a retired supervisor for the Cummins Engine Company a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the Air Force and a member of the Assembly of God. He married Mary Rosalie Turner on May 11, 1975 and she survives.
Surviving with his wife, Mary are his children: Kenny Turner of Seymour; Kim Wood and her husband Jason of Bloomington; Ermina Davis and Jeff Turner both of Seymour, Susan Cecil, Tammy Cecil and Brian Cecil all of Columbus and Mike Stroud of Texas; seven grandchildren: Kayla White (Turner), Gregory Warner, Jason Warner, Keelyn Turner, Shaina Turner, Ryan Turner and Stephanie Cecil; three great grandchildren; one brother: William Cecil of Florida and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother in law: Essie Burnette, sister: Dorothy Rankin and brothers: Butch and Paul Cecil. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 2nd in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Bill Johnson and Rev. Russell Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca with military services accorded by the members of the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Friends may visit at Day & Carter Mortuary on Monday, February 1st from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
