Obituary of Ruth Allen

Loogoottee Ruth (Adkins) Allen, 86, of 612 S. Kentucky Avenue, Loogoottee, IN, died at 5:30 pm on Friday, December 31, 2004 at her residence. Born June 23, 1918 in Monticello, KY, she was the daughter of Susie Mae Adkins Burton. She married Harry G. Allen on January 10, 1956 and he died March 30, 1993. She was a homemaker and a member of Life Tabernacle in Springville. Survivors include five daughters, Carol Jean Arthur of Fortville, IN, Delores Canter of Greenfield, IN, Betty Lou Preston of Greenwood, IN, Marcia K. Allen of Bedford and Marsha Riley of Indianapolis, IN; two sons, Durley W. Blevins of Morgantown, IN and John Edward Blevins of Russell Springs, KY; twenty-six grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, two great grandsons, Benjamin Fuesler and Ryan Stailey and one step- sister, Nellie Clark. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 6th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Doug Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Springville Christian Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 5th and from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Thursday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
