Obituary of Louis L. Callahan
Bedford Louis L. Callahan, 77, of 1680 Maul Ridge Road, Bedford, died at 9:40 am on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at his residence.
Born March 5, 1931 in Jackson County, he was the son of Howard and Fidella (Robertson) Callahan. He married Lavon Bonnie Ball on May 4, 1951 and she survives. He retired as a truck driver after forty years and was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War and was a member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and Murat Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie of Bedford; two daughters, Phyllis Callahan and Brenda Willoughby and her husband, J.B. all of Bedford; one son, David Callahan and his wife, Susan of Bedford; four grandchildren, Brad Anderson and his wife, Heather of Indianapolis, Amanda Swift and her husband, Clint of Centerpoint, IN, Howard Dean Callahan and Sarah Jane Callahan of Bedford; one sister, Carol Callahan of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Viola Callahan, who raised him, two brothers, Harold and Donald Callahan and one daughter, Lois L. Anderson. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, October 20th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Reed Beard officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Masonic services will be conducted at 5:00 pm on Sunday by members of the Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM. Donations Information
