Obituary of Peggy Delores Bush

Bedford Peggy Delores Bush, 79, of 120 8th Street, Oolitic, died at 3:20 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Garden Villa in Bedford. Born October 15, 1929 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Heber and Martha (Hillenburg) Sowders. She married Charles Robert Bush on March 12, 1949 and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1961. Peggy graduated from Oolitic High School with the class of 1948 and was named the Lawrence County Sesqui-centenial queen that same year. She was a member of the Tunnel Hill Pentecostal Church and was a group leader at RCA in Bloomington for twenty years. She later worked at NWSC CRANE for twenty years. Survivors include one son, Danny Bob Bush and his wife, Carol of Springville; one grandson, Alan Robert Bush and his wife Kami of Bedford; one granddaughter, Cara Renee McKnight and her husband Chris of Mitchell; two great grandchildren, Coy Christopher and Chloe Renee McKnight; two sisters, Dorothy Owens of Bedford and Marcella Turner of Oolitic; one brother, Heber Sowders Jr. and his wife Mary Ellen of Oolitic. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Judy Sowders, and one brother Jim Sowders. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 29th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery.
