I was so sorry to hear of Gene's passing. He has always been one of my favorite cousins, and we will all miss him greatly. He always had a smile no matter how he was feeling, and even when he was so sick, he always made a valiant effort to worry about everyone else. He was a good example to us all and we were fortunate to have had him as long as we did. He had a rough time the past few years, so I'm glad he isn't suffering any longer and can be at peace now. I envision him sitting around playing Euchre with Papaw Jeffries and some of the other Uncles & Cousins, like they always did at the reunions, laughing and teasing each other, and slapping the cards down with pretended malice. Blessings to all the family, my love & prayers are with all of you.
