Dear Jan and family, although my grandmother Mary Elizabeth, Martha's sister died when I was two, I was fortunate to have heard stories about the Bridwell siblings and my "Aunt Martha". I also was fortunate enough to have spoken to her and exchanged some photos some years ago. I had always hoped to met her and you someday. My condolences and prayers on her loss. From what I know she was one of a kind and the world is diminished by her passing. I am sorry I just found out about her loss.

Jan - I don't read e-mails during the summer much, so I just learned of your mom's passing. You are fortunate to have had her in your life as long as you did, but I know it's not easy to give a mother up. My thoughts are with you and your family.

John, Jan and Marianne Martha will be greatly missed. On several trips to Bedford in the last few years I would see her and John and it always brought back such fond memories. I really can't remember a time when she wasn't in my life, since I grew up next door to the Bridwells. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'll miss Aunt Martha very much. She always made me feel welcome and special. There was no trip to Bedford without stopping in to see Aunt Martha and Uncle John with my dear grandparents, Jack and Tia, and later with my parents, Marsha and Ron, and finally as an adult. The world is definitely less funny without that particular brand of humor that is all Bridwell.
