Obituary of Spencer L. Isom

Bedford - , Spencer L. Isom, Jr., 79, of Bedford passed away at 2:30 am Friday at his residence. Born in Bedford on November 19, 1927, he was the son of Spencer L. & L. Marie (Brown) Isom. He married Marilyn June Harrell on June 4, 1949 and she survives. Mr. Isom was a member of First Assembly of God in Bedford. He graduated from Bedford High in 1947. He served in both the Army and Navy during 1946 and from 1952 until 1955. In 1989 he retired from GMAC Truck and Coach Co. in Pontiac, Michigan. Survivors include his wife Marilyn; One daughter Susan Isom of Bedford; Two sisters Phyllis Turpin and her husband Harvey of Bedford, Frances Webster and her husband Max of Grand Blanc, Michigan; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Wilbur, one sister Karen Davidson Funeral Information Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 27th at the Assembly of God Church in Bedford with Pastors Terry Bryant & Glenn Duncan Officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday August 26th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
