Obituary of Vera Brown

Bedford Vera Brown, 73, of Bedford, died at 11:57 pm, Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. Born July 10, 1940 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Maynard Henry and Mary Delight (Bates) Gardner. She had been employed in nursing and as a factory worker. Surviving are three daughters, Colleen Carnita Jackson Summitt and Kenneth of Bloomington, Melissa Dawn Wilson and Joe Kern of Mitchell, Leatha Gail Taylor and Barry of Tunnelton/Bono, one son Coy Dale Brown and wife Elisabeth of Bedford, one sister, Edith Sanders, 14 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Ruth Smith, Mary (Kathy) Barlow and Dotty Martinez, one brother, Don Gardner. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 1st 2013 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Dixon Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00pm on Monday, September 30, 2013.
