Obituary of Chester G. Bridwell

Bedford Chester G. Bridwell, 84, of 1401 19th Street, Bedford, IN, died at 11:20 pm on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born December 22, 1919 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Ben and Mabel (Cain) Bridwell. He married Jane Moore in 1948 and she died in 1969. He later married Wanda Grissom in 1975 and she survives. He was the owner of Bridwell Appliances in Bedford for many years. He was a graduate of Needmore High School. He was a member of the Avoca Baptist Church, Gillen Post #33 American Legion, Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and the Bedford Elks Lodge. He was a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Wanda of Bedford; one son, Benny Lee Bridwell; one nephew, Biffton Elliott of Bedford; one step-daughter, Beth Kahn of Knoxville, TN and one step-grandson, Dylan Kahn of Knoxville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Jane. Funeral Information Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 22nd at Green Hill Cemetery with Richard Chase officiating. No calling hours are scheduled. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 Amercian Legion. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
