Obituary of William M. Ira

Bedford William M. Ira, Jr., 77, of 711 Glendale Way, Bedford, died at 8:40 am on Monday, March 19, 2007 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born May 16, 1929 in Bedford, he was the son of William M. Ira, Sr. and Helen Anderson. He married Vonda McBride on April 8, 1949 and she died August 20, 1987. He later married Mary Louise Potts in 1993 and she preceded him in death on December 19, 2005. He was a retired stone cutter and a member of the Cedar Lodge #161 F & AM. Survivors include four children, Remona J. Koop and her husband, John of San Antonio, TX, Frank S. Ira and his wife, Robin of Bedford, Nancy G. Arthur and her husband, Robin of Springville, Rosanna F. Rosie Roach and her husband, Scott of Bedford; grandchildren, John Koop, Pam Stone, Robin Lemieux, David Ira, Joshua Anderson, Nathan Anderson, Daniel Anderson, Rick Sims, Tiana Caraway, Jessica B. Arthur-Craig, Rebecca L. Knight, Michael Roach, Steven Roach, Kevin Roach and Jennifer Roach; seventeen great grandchildren; four sisters, Sharon Ludwig of Mitchell, Carolyn Sue McCory of Brownstown, Mary Ann Mann of Freetown and Kathy Griffin of Brownstown. He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, one brother, Harold, one sister, Winnie and one grandson, Kyle W. Davis. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 22nd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Jeff Hauersperger officiating. Burial will follow in the Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 21st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
