Obituary of Ernest W. Bailiff
Bedford-Ernest W. Bailiff, 68, of 12123 Tunnelton Road, Bedford, passed away at 8:21 Saturday, August 6th at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born on November 29, 1936, he was the son of Rev. Horace Bailiff and Lola (Nellinger) Crane. He was a farmer, school bus driver for thirty one years and owner of Bailiffs mowing and lawn care. He was a member and lay speaker of the Tunnelton United Methodist Church and F & AM Cedar Lodge #161. He married Marietta Hoggatt on July 8, 1956 and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Marietta of Bedford is his mother: Lola Crane of Bedford; three sons: Bryan K. Bailiff and his wife, Lisa of Bedford, Brad K. Bailiff and his wife, Tanna of Tunnelton and Bart K. Bailiff of Bedford; four grandsons: Zachary, Caleb and Austin all of Bedford and Kyle of Tunnelton; two granddaughters: Bailey of Bedford and Brandee of Tunnelton. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 10th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Hugh Reynolds, Rev. Lindy Hopkins and Rev. Joyce Mincoff. Burial will follow in the Talbot Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, August 9th from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Day & Carter Mortuary. Masonic services will be conducted 7:00 P.M. Tuesday by the Cedar Lodge #161.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the Gideons.
