Obituary of Debra A. Hawkins

Debbie (Brown) Hawkins, 57, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:34 pm on Friday, June 15, 2012 after a 25 year battle with a brain tumor. She was born July 5, 1954 to George and Louise (Short) Brown. On December 12, 1971 she married Jerry Hawkins and he survives. Debbie was a member at Dive Christian Church. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; two daughters, Missy Brown and husband Stacey, Mindy Bugh, both of Bedford; four grandchildren, Jordan Snow, Taylor, Clayton and Dalton Brown; one sister, Becky Taylor and husband Greg of Bedford; one brother, Kevin Brown and wife Ruth of Campbellsburg; step-brother David Whalen; her mother and step-father, Louise and David Whalen all of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her father, George Brown. Funeral Information Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Dive Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews Justin Pogue, Ryan Taylor, Heath Hawkins and her grandsons Taylor, Clayton and Dalton Brown. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 and from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Wednesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
