Obituary of Vera J. York

Bedford Vera J. York, 66, a resident of Mitchell Manor, formerly of White River Lodge, died at 7:33 am on Sunday, October 24, 2004 at Mitchell Manor in Mitchell. Born October 6, 1938 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Harlon and Mary V. (Clark) Kelley. She was employed in the home health care field and a member of Life Tabernacle in Springville. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Vincent of Bloomington; two sons, John David York of Bedford and Mark York of Bloomington; three brothers, Bill Kelley of Bloomington, Stanley Kelley of Springville and Jack Kelley of Mitchell; four sisters, Joan Wubben of Springville, Norma Mikels of Springsfield, MS, Rebekah Goss of Bedford and Beverly Fletcher of Springsfield, MS; her long-time companion, Kenny Kern of Bedford; nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Steven (in infancy) and one daughter, Cindy. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 27th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Stanley Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Wednesday, October 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
