Obituary of Robert Vernon Wray

Bedford Robert Vernon Wray, 77, of 152 Buddha Road, Bedford, died at 4:35 pm on Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born June 1, 1925 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Henry Doyle and Fern Faye (Fountain) Wray. He married Fern Spainhourd on May 19, 1956 and she survives. He was a steamfitter working from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local #136 out of Evansville. He was a member of the White River Baptist Church and the Cedar Masonic Lodge #161 of Leesville. Surviving with his wife, Fern, are one daughter, Melanie Shoults and her husband, Aaron of Mitchell; one son, Anthony Doyle Wray and his wife, Amy, of Bedford; seven grandsons, Tim and his wife, Melissa, Todd, Ted, Tyler and Thomas Wray all of Bedford and Adam and Evan Shoults of Mitchell; two sisters, Elizabeth Duncan of Mitchell and Hettie Anderson of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Dorabelle Dixon and Mildred Crane. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, February 28th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 27th and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
