Obituary of Norman Rex Woodsmall
Mitchell Norman Rex (Dragon) Woodsmall, 77, of Mitchell, died at 10:30 am on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born August 23, 1935 in Elnora, IN, he was the son of Ira A. and Iva May (Pruett) Woodsmall. He married Elta D. Johnson on June 28, 1977 and she preceded him in death. He retired from NWSC Crane as a crew leader in 2002 after thirty years of employment. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean War and was a member of the Crane V.F.W. Post #9297. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include step-children, Kimberly Clifton and husband, Frank, Kelly Beavers and husband, Carl, all of Martinsville, Karol Brooks of Mitchell, Kevin VanMeter and wife, Cindi, of Mooresville; a brother-in-law, Denver Leon Johnson and wife, Carol; sister-in-law, Joyce Teter and husband, Karl; nine step-grandchildren, Stephanie Coulter of Mitchell, Carl Bucky Beavers of Martinsville, Nathan Beavers and wife, Erin of Roachdale, Natalie Brim and husband, Bill of Mitchell, Kimberly Enochs and husband, Dustin of Needmore, Jessica Peyton and husband, Robbie of Mooresville, Tia Moyer and husband, Daniel of Mooresville, Christopher Spears and wife, Amanda of Ohio, Deanna Bohnenkamp and husband, Seth of Mitchell; twenty-four step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four brothers, one sister and one step-great-grandchild. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 19th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Run Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 18th and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, January 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
