Celebration of life for Iola Evelyn Boehme
Iola Boehme passed away June 10th, 2014. She had been living in Green Valley, AZ but her home for over 60 years was Bedford, Indiana.
She was born on September 4, 1921 in Perryville, MO, daughter of the late Carl Mecker and Hilda Rauh Mecker.
She was a longtime member and organist of Calvary Lutheran Church in Bedford, Ind. She was heavily involved in her work both at the church and the Lutheran Womens Missionary League. She was an LWML state of Indiana past president.
She was an inspiration not only to her family but also to many others who crossed her path, both at church and through her work with the Bedford police department. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Boehme.
She is survived by children, Sandi and (John) Hrovatin of Green Valley, AZ, Karen Boehme of Stoughton, WI; grandchildren Melissa and (Josh) Bemus of Fondulac, WI and Meghann and (Kevin) Proper of Stoughton, WI and her special little love, her great grandson Isaac Bemus of Fondulac, WI. She also leaves behind her brother Melvin Mecker of Santa Fe, NM and her sister Madeline Muench of Perryville, MO and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Information
The family will receive friends at Calvary Lutheran Church on Thursday, June 19, 2014 between noon and 2pm. Funeral services will immediately follow with Rev Charles A Groth officiating. Interment to follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Donations Information
