Obituary of Mary E. Wigner
Bedford Mary E. Wigner, 84, of Bedford, died at 10:08 pm on Monday, January 5, 2009 at Dunn Memorial Hospital.
Born July 19, 1924 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of George O. and Pearl (Evans) Baker. She married Winfred Wigner on June 1, 1947 and he preceded her in death on July 8, 1991. She was a homemaker and an active member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Jerome Wigner and his wife, Cheryl of Cincinnati, OH; a daughter, Elaine Hawkins and her husband, Roger of Paoli, IN; a sister, Sylvia Pritchett and her husband, Richard of Bedford; a brother, Marshall Baker and his wife, Wanda of Springville; four grandchildren, Tami Howard and her husband, Jason, Mark Abel, Christl Wigner and Dallas Sims; four great grandchildren, Erin Abel, Tyler Kukuvka, Jalen Gunter and Drew Howard; two brothers-in-law, Bill Morris and Lester Hall both of Bedford ; a sister-in-law, Vonda Baker of Springville and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Winfred; a daughter, Beth Sims; three sisters, Anna Jane Hall, Melphia Morris and Melvina Ruth Baker (in infancy); a brother, Opal Baker. Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 10th at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Bell officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 9th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Saturday, January 10th at the First United Methodist Church.
