Obituary of Bob White
Bedford Bob White, 78, of 27 S. Hill Drive, Bedford, died at 9:00 am on Monday, June 22, 2009 at his residence.
Born June 15, 1931 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Lavon Allen and Beatrice Steana (Gee) White. He married Peggy Elliott on October 20, 1952 and she survives. He was the owner of Bob Whites LP Gas and Mitchell Bottle Gas, Inc. which he started in 1960 and sold in 1996. He was a member of the Fayettville Baptist Church and attended the Oolitic Methodist Church. He was an avid fisherman and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy of Bedford; three daughters, Linda Foddrill and husband, Danny, Sherry Rainey and husband, Rick all of Bedford, Pamela Burnette and husband, Brad of Paoli; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters, Delilah Taylor of Fayetteville, Sondra Eagan and husband, Larry, of Williams; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Tracy Allen White and a brother, Joseph Allen White. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 25th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Dan Voorhies and Lyndon Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 24th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, June 25th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
