Obituary of Samuel Allison Webb
Rev. Samuel Allison Webb, 87, passed away March 27, 2010, at Garden Villa in Bedford, IN. He was born March 18, 1923 to Leslie and Eva (Pierce) Webb. He grew up in Fayetteville, Indiana. He served 3 years in the United States Navy, mostly in the Pacific area.
Sam was a Baptist Minister and carpenter. He answered the call to the ministry in 1950. He graduated from Franklin College and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. During those years he pastored small churches and worked as a carpenter. His first full-time church was Jasonville Baptist Church. He pastored several churches in Indiana later on. Then in 1978, he accepted a carpenter job at Judson College in Elgin, Illinois. He worked there for 10 years and retired in 1988, returning to Bedford, Indiana. After retirement, he preached at several churches when they needed him. He taught Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church in Bedford where he was a member. He loved playing his harmonica and entertained at churches, nursing homes and AARP meetings.
Survivors include his wife, (Emma) Louise Wagoner whom he married in 1947; two sons, Gary Dale Webb(wife Karen) of Anderson and step-granddaughter Amber Turner(husband James), step-grandchildren Joel and Ariah; Keith Edward Webb of Summitville, granddaughter Ashley Webb, grandson Timothy Webb(wife Krista), two great-grandchildren Emily and Joseph Webb. He has two brothers Wilbur Webb(wife Mary) and Oscar Webb(wife Alisha) all of Bedford. He was preceded in death by parents Leslie and Eva Webb, a son Mark Allen who stillborn in 1967 and also Keiths wife Carla. Funeral Information
Funeral services will conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 31st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Dr. Kregg Burris officiating. Burial will follow in the Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday March 30th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
