Obituary of Albert Walton

Oolitic Albert (Fred) Walton, 56, of 313 Lafayette Ave., Oolitic, died at 10:24 pm on Thursday, December 4, 2003 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born June 25, 1947 in Orange Co., IN, he was the son of Albert Fred Walton, Sr. and Gertrude (Fern) Williams Walton. He married Diana Southern on June 26, 1976 and she survives. He was a mechanic and service station attendant in Bedford. He was a member of the Oolitic Church of Christ and the Gillen Post #33 American Legion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as a Sea Bee for two duty tours in Viet Nam. Surviving with his wife, Diana of Oolitic is his mother, Gertrude (Fern) Walton of Marengo, IN; three brothers, Clarence Walton of Bedford, Charlie and John Walton both of Marengo, IN; four sisters, Dorothy Spires, Cathy Canada and Edith Yarberry all of Bedford and Alberta Bader of Lafayette, IN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Robert and Richard (both in infancy). Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, December 8th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Ed Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, December 7th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Monday at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
