Obituary of Mildred Walters

Bedford-Mildred Dolly Walters, 74, of 1716 24th Street passed away at 7:05 AM Saturday, May 15, 2004 at the Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on November 25, 1929 in Lawrence County she was the daughter of Charles Edington and Thelma (Wade) Edington. She retired from Dunn Memorial Hospital in 1974 as a food supervisor. Dolly was a member of the St. Johns Episcopal Church. She married Eugene Rabbit Walters on April 8, 1950 and he survives. Also surviving with her husband are two sons: Charles Walters and his wife, Peggy Sue of Bedford and Greg Walters and his wife, Sherry Lynn of Bedford; four granddaughters: Amy Brothers and her husband, Mark of Mitchell; Starr Chinn and her husband Jason of Bedford; Amanda Walters and her fiance, Steve Wever of Bedford and Reva Diehl and her husband, Kevin of Bedford; eight great grandchildren: Mason, Emily, Abby, Nathan, Bryce, Kendra, Garret and Ali. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Doreen Hollenbeck and Dorothy Jane Edington. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 18th at the St. Johns Episcopal Church with Father Charles Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at the Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call at Day & Carter Mortuary on Monday, May 17th from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday, May 18th from 11:00 until 1: 30 P.M.
