Obituary of Bernadine Hunter

Bernadine Hunter November 09, 1925 August 24, 2013 Bedford Bernadine Hunter, 87, of Bedford, died at 1:15 am on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the IU Health Bedford Hospital. Born on November 9, 1925 she was the daughter of Daisy and Logan Mitchner. Bernadine graduated from Clearspring High School in 1944. She married Robert Hunter on April 12, 1945 and he survives. She was a member of Mundell Christian Church. Bernadine worked at the Indiana Limestone Co. for several years in the drafting department. She also worked at the Naval Weapons Support Center at Crane, Indiana. Survivors include her husband, Robert of Bedford; three children, Debora Bateman and husband Jim of Loogootee, Tammi Hooten and husband Stephen of Bedford, Jon Hunter of Bedford; grandchildren, Scott Taylor of Bloomington, Brian Taylor and wife Jessica of Warsaw, Lisa Taylor and partner Leia Fanelli of Bloomington, Kevin Hooten of Bloomington, Kyle Hooten, Klint Hooten and Katelyn Hooten all of Bedford, Jessica Hunter of Illinois, Joni Jacobo and husband Harrison of Vincennes, and Jeni Hunter of Bedford; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Russell Mitchner and wife Edith, and brother Ralph Mitchner and wife Jane. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with John Wisley officiating. Burial will follow in Mundell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
