Obituary of Ralph Turner
HeltonvilleRev. Ralph L. Turner, 96, of Heltonville, went to be with the Lord at 6:00 A.M. Sunday, May 11th.
He was the son of Walter and Lena Turner, born in Oolitic, IN on September 5, 1911. He married Nellie P. Eads on August 20, 1932 and she preceded him in death on June 5, 2001.
Rev. Turner was an ordained minister in the Church of God (Anderson). For many years he served as Associate Minister in churches at Bedford and Logansport, IN and Cleveland and Elyria, OH. Concurrently he was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 7 years, by the Department of the Army for 19 years, and the Internal Revenue Service for 8 years.
After his retirement in 1969 he served as Chaplain at both the Dunn memorial Hospital and the Bedford Regional Medical Center for 8 years. He continued to serve as Chaplain at BRMC for an additional 19 years, 6 of which he served as Spiritual Counselor in an Alcohol Anonymous Drug and Alcohol program.
Survivors include a son, Boyce E. Turner and his wife, Virginia, a daughter, Judith A. Turner-Bussmann of Arlington, VA, three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 14th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial following in Gilgal Cemetery in Heltonville. Friends may call 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 13th at Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information
