Obituary of Gertrude M. Toliver
Bedford, Gertrude M. Toliver, 89, of Bedford, passed away at 7:40 a.m. on Saturday, March 20th, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Born on May 29, 1914 in Heltonville, she was the daughter of Morton Sr. and Letha (Harris) Thomas. She was married to Hayden W. Toliver and he preceded her in death.
She was a life long resident of Lawrence County. Retired from R.C.A in Bloomington in 1972. She was a member of the Pleasant Run Church, where she taught the adult Sunday School Class for several years. Her lifes desire was to love and praise Jesus until life on earth was over, and to be in Heaven with the angels and her loved ones. To bow at His feet and look upon His face with praise and thanksgiving throughout eternity.
Surviving is one daughter: Barbara Deich and her husband, James of Bedford; two grandsons: Devin and Aaron Deich both of Bedford and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; six brothers: Rev. Morton, Glen, Rev. Carl, Aubury, Edison and Homer Thomas; one sister: Callie E. Hand. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 22nd, from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor David Colgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilgal Cemetery in Heltonville.
Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 21st, and from Noon until the service hour on Monday, March 22nd, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
