Obituary of Ula Iona Hughes

Ula Iona Hughes, 95, passed away at 4:50 P.M. Friday, January 15th at the Mitchell Manor Nursing Home. She was born on January 28, 1914 in Casey, IL and was retired from Central Foundry and had attended New Hope Church. She married Lester Hughes and he preceded her in death in 1986. Surviving are two step-children: Don Hughes and Barbara Aufenberg both of Mitchell; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren and one great, great, great grandchild; caregivers: Mary Thompson and Linda Craig where she lived for almost nine years in Leesville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two step-daughters: Virginia Basinger and Betty Brown and one step-son: Gordon Hughes. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, January 19th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Larry Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may visit at Day & Carter on Tuesday, January 19th from 10:30 A.M. until the hour of the service.
