Obituary of Walter Stroud
Shoals Walter Stroud, 101, of Shoals, IN, died at 4:38 pm on Tuesday, December 25, 2007 in Bedford.
Born July 14, 1906 in Martin Co., he was the son of William and Ellen (Crane) Stroud. He married Inez Louden on March 29, 1930 and she survives. He was a crane operator for Indiana Limestone Co. and a member of the Operators Engineers Union.
Surviving with his wife, Inez are three sons, Russell Stroud and his wife, Nancy of Shoals, Rex Stroud and his wife, Janet of Bedford and William Stroud and his wife, Linda of Whiteland; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Stroud; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Dean Stroud; one daughter, Doris Zumhingst; five brothers and six sisters. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 29th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Paul Neuman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 28th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
