Obituary of James E. Stigall

Bedford James E. Dick Stigall, 85, of 1 Pattonville Road, Bedford, loving husband, father and grandfather, died at 9:38 pm on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at his residence. Born September 12, 1925 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Elmer and Winnie (Strunk) Stigall. He married Donna Faye Strunk on June 3, 1956 and she survives. He was a stone worker in area limestone quarries and later was an insurance agent. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WW II. He was a member of the United Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Donna of Bedford; one daughter, Jamie Williams and husband, Shane of Mitchell; two sons, Mike Stigall of Bedford and Scott Stigall and wife, Andrea of Columbia, MO; grandchildren, Sara Strunk, Brandi Stigall, Shanon Hardin, April Stigall, Brittany Clark and husband, Cagney, Zachary Hardin, Jennifer Stigall and Samantha Stigall; two great grandchildren, Cash Clark and Blair Barlow; two step-grandchildren, Amber Atwood and Jesse Heiss; two sisters, Christine Ritchey and Barbara McFadden both of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Yvonne Hardin; two grandchildren, Courtney Strunk and Page Williams; six brothers, Ollie, Tom, Ted, Hayden, Frank and Opal. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 5th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Darris McNeely officiating. Burial will follow in the Patton Hill Cemetery with military rites accorded at the graveside. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, December 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
