Obituary of Beatrice May Stevens

Bedford Beatrice May Stevens, 68, of Bedford, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 4:35 am on Friday, June 21, 2013. Born February 19, 1945 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Ray William and Myrtle Mae (Blythe) Moore. She married Rev. Gary Stevens on January 6, 1964 and he preceded her in death on January 23, 2009. She had worked at the Hub Restaurant in Bedford for over fifteen years and also cleaned homes. She was a member of the New Hope Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Jamie Bechtel and husband, Jim, of Mitchell; two sons, Jim Stevens and wife, Neena, of Petersburg, IN, Brent Stevens and wife, Anne Marie, of Bedford; Travis Bauer and Tabitha (Justin) Berger (who were raised in the Stevens home); eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three brothers, Chester (Tamera) Moore of Bedford, Wayne Cain of Marseilles, IL and Wilmer Cain of TX; in-laws, Sharon (Carl) Lyons, Joe (Brenda) Stevens, Jerry (Ana) Stevens, Linda (Tom) Jenkins; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Debra Landstrom; a granddaughter, Stephanie Bauer; two sisters, Violet Grace (in infancy) and Alberta Brown. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 25th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Dallas Lakes, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Judah Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 24th and from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Tuesday, June 25th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
