Obituary of Anna Stansbury
ColumbusAnna (Armstrong) Stansbury, 92, of Columbus and formerly of Bedford, passed away at 4:50 P.M. Saturday, December 20th at the Columbus Regional Hospital.
Born on September 6, 1916 in Springville, IN she was the daughter of Curtis Armstrong and Maud (Bennett) Armstrong. She was an educator for over 42 years having taught many of those years at Needmore and Bedford. She was a member of the Springville Christian Church, a lifetime member of Phi Beta Psi National Sorority, Daughters of the American Revolution and AAUW (American Association of University Women). In 2003 she received the National Exchange Clubs Book of Golden Deeds Award as well as several other awards throughout her life. She married Ernest Stansbury on June 8, 1946 in Bedford and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1997.
Surviving is one son: Ted Stansbury and his wife, Barbara of Columbus, IN; one step granddaughter: Lisa Voelz of Columbus, IN; one step great grandson: Conor; a nephew: Stan Armstrong and his wife, Ann of Springville, IN and three nieces: Amanda Armstrong, Sarah Nation and Jennifer Walker. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers: Dale and Ralph Armstrong, two sisters-in-law: Myrtle (Holmes) Armstrong and Blanche (Storms) Armstrong. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 24th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Dean Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in the Springville West Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 23rd from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information
