Obituary of Moneva Staley

Bedford-Moneva (Lawyer) Staley, 94, of Bedford went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family at 12:42pm on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the Garden Villa in Bedford. Born December 31, 1916 in Lawrence County she was the daughter of Isaac and Minnie Ida (Hall) Lawyer. She married Walter L. Staley on December 9, 1932 and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Oolitic Trinity Pentecostal Church. She had worked for M. Fine and Sons and also Szabo Food Co. Survivors include two daughters: Sue A. New of Bedford, and Linda L. Benson and her husband Richard of New Palestine, IN; a niece Beatrice Smith of Bloomington who was like a sister; 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons Walter Staley, Jr. , and Robert Staley; nine siblings: Damon Lawyer, Darvol Lawyer, Alva Lawyer, Dorothy Patton, Pauline Harvey, Mabel Srygley, Margaret Elizabeth Sullivan, Roland Lawyer, and Arthur Lawyer. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 28th 2011 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Marty Speer officiating. Burial will follow the Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from10:00 AM until the hour of service on Wednesday December 28th 2011.
