Obituary of Vollie Staggs

Oolitic, Vollie Staggs, 71, of 142 Denson Street in East Oolitic, died at 5:20 a.m. on Saturday, October 23rd, at his residence. Born on November 3, 1932, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Mitchell and Alice (Jones) Staggs. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Staggs, who preceded him in death and then married Judith Mullinax on June 25, 1988 and she survives. He was retired from Indiana Limestone after 45 years. He was a member of the Bedford Eagles Lodge # 654. Surviving with his wife, Judith is one son Gary Staggs of Oolitic, one step-daughter, Trevada Wade of Oolitic, two step-sons, Bryon Brazzel of Mitchell, and Alan Brazzel of Owensburg; five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; two brothers, Dwight Staggs of Bedford, and Danny Staggs of East Oolitic; two sisters June Pierce of Springville, and Gail Armstrong of Avoca. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Rita Trueblood, one sister Eva Anderson. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 26th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day and Carter Mortuary with Rev. Millard Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, October 25th, and from 11:00 until the hour of service on Tuesday, October 26th at the Day and Carter Mortuary.
