Obituary of Robert E. Spaulding
Evansville, Robert E. Spaulding, 64, of Evansville, IN, died at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 18th, at his residence. Born on July 9, 1939 in Salem, IN. He married Gloria J. Blair and she survives.
He retired form the RCA in Bloomington, Indiana after 39 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea, France and Germany from 1959 to 1962. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign War, Post 9297, Burton Woolery Post #18.
Surviving with his wife of Evansville; his mother: Margaret L. Christenberry of Bedford; two sisters: Nancy White and Julia Fullen both of Bedford; three brothers: Larry Joe Spaulding of Bedford, Ronnie Spaulding of Mitchell, Gary Spaulding of Paoli; three step children: Michael, Michelle and Vicki Blair all of Evansiville ; one half-sister: Martha Lipira of Florida; six step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: Ellis H. Spaulding; first wife: Margaret (Franklin) Spaulding; one sister: Molly Marie Spaulding; two half-sisters: Georgetta Overton and Kay. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23rd, from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Military rites will be accorded at the grave by the American Legion Post #33.
