Obituary of Mary Jo Southern

Bedford Mary Jo Southern, 87, of Bedford, died at 8:15 pm on Tuesday January 28, 2014 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital. Born April 12, 1926 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Curtis and Emma M. (Wilson) May. She married Richard Southern in 1986 and he preceded her in death. She was formerly a custodian at the Presbyterian Church where she was also a member. She is survived by a brother, William D. May of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Larry D May; two brothers, Harry and Keith May and a sister, Wanda Rush. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Friday, January 31st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 30th and from 3:00 pm until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
