Obituary of Mary J. Smith

Bedford Mary J. Smith, 90, of Bedford, died at 2:35 am on Friday, September 09, 2011 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford. Born November 1, 1920 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Oscar K. and Elizabeth (Rich) Anderson. She married Charles E. Smith on May 25, 1941 and he preceded her in death on July 1, 2003. She was a homemaker and Sunday School teacher for fifteen years. She was the oldest original member of the Englewood Baptist Church joining in 1933. Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Reuter and husband, Lyle of Bedford; a granddaughter, Julie Reuter of Bedford; a great grandson, Kyle R. Ollis of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers, Arthur, Kenneth, Richard,, Edward, Wayne and Harry Anderson; one sister, Clara (Anderson) Bartley. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 12th at the Englewood Baptist Church with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 11th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
