Obituary of Emma M. Smith

Bedford Emma M. Smith, 75, of 1615 First Street, Bedford, died at 1:16 am on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at the Bloomington Hospital. Born June 28, 1931 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Richard and Maggie (Eagan) Fields. She married James G. Smith on July 4, 1950. She retired from M. Fine & Sons in Bedford and was of the Protestant faith. Survivors include her husband, James of Bedford and one daughter, Susan S. Smith of Oolitic. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Harley Dutch, Claty Jake, Charlie, Richard and Ray Fields and one sister, Bess Robertson. Funeral Information Private services are planned with burial in the Green Hill Cemetery. No calling hours are scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
