Obituary of Gerald L. Skinner
Oolitic Gerald L. (Tom) Skinner, 76, of Oolitic, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born July 5, 1936, he was the son of Gerald H. and Wilma (Sullivan) Skinner.
Captain Tom was an avid fisherman and loved being on the White River. He was a lifetime member of the Bedford Boat and Sportsman Club. He was a member of the New Life Trinity Holiness Tabernacle.
Tom is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Verla (Parker) Skinner, his mother, Wilma Skinner of Oolitic; one son, Gerald F. (Buddy) Skinner (Dee) of South Carolina; one daughter, Sherri Hillenburg (Dennis) of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Aimee Cross (Nathan), Erik Millick (Heather) both of Bloomington, Brandon Millick (Starr) of Monrovia; seven great grandchildren, Elijah Fadely, Noah Hillenburg, Wren and Avery Millick, Page Corbett, Brayden and Trenton Millick. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 14th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Mark Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 13th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, March 14th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information
